Canada Place
Canada Place

Located in the heart of Vancouver’s downtown Harbour front, Canada Place is one of the best places to visit in the city because of its marvelous views, unique architecture, central location, and historical significance. Canada Place is a famous national landmark welcoming local residents, domestic and international visitors and hundreds of cruise ships to the West Coast. Canada Place is the city’s main cruise ship terminal, where most of Vancouver’s visiting cruise ships come to dock. With its five large fiberglass sails visible above the Vancouver Waterfront, the complex itself was designed to look like a beautiful ship. The white sails of the building have made it a prominent landmark for our beautiful city and country. The outside deck at Canada Place offers excellent views of the Pacific Ocean and North Shore Mountains and makes for a pleasant and memorable walk. The complex is also home to Vancouver Convention Centre, Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel, World Trade Centre office tower, and FlyOver Canada, a flight-simulation ride over Canada. On July 1, the largest Canada Day celebration outside of Ottawa is hosted at Canada Place. A number of other community events including the Canada Place Summer Series, National Aboriginal Day, and Christmas are also hosted at Canada Place. Canada Place is located close to Waterfront Station, which is Vancouver’s SeaBus and main SkyTrain terminus, as well as Granville Street, Gastown, and Coal Harbour and its seawall, which goes all the way to Stanley Park. It is also very easily accessible by a few lines of the city bus.
