West End
The world famous Stanley Park is located in the West End and is a favorite spot for tourists and locals alike. With 1000 acres of forested area, a 10 km seawall that encompasses the whole park, numerous nature trails, the Vancouver Aquarium, restaurants and cafes, and many more attractions, Stanley Park is definitely Vancouver's crown jewel. Sunset Beach is another one of Vancouver's beautiful locations and it to resides in the West End. Best known for its spectacular views of the sunset and the annual Celebration of Lights fireworks display, Sunset Beach is definitely a place to see and to be seen.
The West End is home to one of North America's largest and most celebrated gay and lesbian communities. This community is prevalent throughout the neighborhood but centers around Davie Village, a three block stretch located along Davie Street with nightclubs, bars and shops. The annual Gay Pride Parade is held in the West End, this event is attended by thousands of people of all orientations and is a fun and unique experience.
