Kensington-Cedar Cottage

Vancouver's Kensington community with its unparalleled views of the city and mountains is right in the middle of East Vancouver. It is situated between Fraser St. (West) & Nanaimo St. (East) and between Broadway (North) & 41st Ave. (South). The community is made up of two separate neighborhoods. Cedar Cottage, which is south of Trout Lake and Kensington Heights, which is south of Kingsway.

Kensington boasts a younger demographic than the rest of Vancouver and also has a large mix of nationalities and cultures, only 33% of the residents speak English as their first language. With housing prices so high on the west side of Vancouver, many young professionals and new families have made Kensington their home. Single family homes dominate the tree lined streets and there are numerous parks and schools in the area. Also in the area is Vancouver's only lake, Trout Lake, which is located in John Hendry Park. A 27 Hectare park full of trees and nature paths, and which also houses the Trout Lake Community Centre, a fully functional recreational facility for the whole family. All of these great features make Kensington the ideal place to raise a family.
